Yule Lad no. 5: Pottaskefill

Pottasleikir will use all sorts of tricks to get his hands on a pot with leftover scraps in it

The Icelandic Yule Lads are the sons of the trolls Grýla and Leppalúði. They come down from the mountains, one each of the thirteen nights before Christmas bringing children small treats In the days of yore however, they were anything but nice. Instead of bringing treats, they came to scare peple and steal what was most precious to them, their food.

No. 5 is Pottaskefill/Pottasleikir (Pot Scraper), another one of the kitchen lurkers. He prefers pots to pans and will use all kinds of tricks to get his hands on a pot with leftover scraps in it. If he gets one, he will find a good hiding place to enjoy a feast without being disturbed.
