A variety of moonlight primrose with purple-violet flowers that are darker than the species. The flowers are a reddish purple shade first after they open and age to a dark violet colour. The variety is about as hardy as the species. It grows best in the same conditions as other varieties, well drained soil in sun or partial shade.
