'Eva' is one of two self-seeded crosses between the dead-nettle species, L. maculatum and the variety 'Beacon Silver'. This one has the foliage colour of 'Beacon Silver' and the flower colour of the species, the other one is the exact opposite, with the foliage markings of the species and the flower colour of 'Beacon Silver'. I named them after my daughters' middle names and they got to choose which one got their name. This variety is much more vigorous than both parents, so it forms a sizable mound instead of a mat, so it can't be used as a ground cover. Just as hardy and easy to grow as the other dead nettle varieties.
