Hungarian iris has very showy flowers yellow and white with brown veining. Bearded irises need very well drained soil. The rhizomes need to be planted just below the soil surface and care must be taken to ensure that the soil is not too dense so the rhizomes won't rot. The need fertile soil and full sun. It was very reluctant to flower in my garden.
