'Rubra' is a pretty variety of liverleaf with burgundy foliage and magenta coloured flowers. I grew it from seed and there are few plants that have tested my patience like this one. I waited 5-6 years for it to flower, a single flower. The year after that the flowers were two and they have grown in numbers as the years go by. A very beautiful plant that was worth the wait. It grows best in humus-rich, well drained soil in partial shade.
