A beautiful gentian with incredibly sky blue flowers. I've made two attempts growing it, without success. It died it's first winter both times. According to the website of the Botanical Garden in Akureyri (N-Iceland) it should be hardy, so I'm disappointed how difficult it's proving to be. I might try again some day. I grows best in humus-rich, well drained, moist soil that is slightly acidic.
