White Shooting Star is native to the western United States where it grows in moist places, cliffs, stream banks and meadows. It is fairly shade tolerant, but grows best in sun or partial shade. It needs well drained and yet moist soil as it doesn't tolerate drought. Apart from that it's quite hardy.
