Fairy thimble bellflower is a darling, ground covering bellflower that can be used at the front of a perennial border or in a rock garden. It must be noted though that it does spread with rhizomes and that needs to be taken into account when choosing a location to plant it. It tolerates partial shade, even shade for most of the day. It is a lovely ground cover, the leaves form a tight mat that is covered in wonderful blue flowers from mid June into August.
