'Rheinland' is a very pretty japonica hybrid with bright pink flowers. I've thought it was an arendsii hybrid since I bought it many years ago, but on-line sources seem in agreement that it is a japonica hybrid. It doesn't flower reliably like the other japonica hybrids I've had. It's fairly hardy and has lived for years, but isn't very vigorous.
