Jones' columbine is a lovely alpine that grows in lime-stone screes in the Rocky Mountains. It is well suited to rock gardens as it needs plenty of sun and well-drained, gritty soil, preferably rich in lime. It is thriving in my garden, where it grows in gritty soil.
