Hard shield fern is a very beautiful fern with stiff, glossy green foliage that is supposedly evergreen. I bought this plant last spring, so it remains to be seen whether the leaves will wither and how it will grow here. It needs a sheltered position in shade or partial shade, in well-drained, humus-rich, moist soil.
