Maidenhair spleenwort is a rare, native fern that only grows in a few isolated locations in SE-Iceland, although it's widespread globally. It usually grows in moist rock crevices. I bought this plant last spring and hopefully it'll grow well in my garden. It grew well this summer. It grows best in partial shade in humus-rich, well-drained, fairly moist soil in a sheltered position.
